HI, could I be rather controversial and ask what alternatives you guys are proposing?
Will you be lobbying for more wind turbines in your area? Or will the community be taking action to drastically reduce your energy consumption and move toward bio-mass generation? Or will you be supporting the Governments plans to increase nuclear reliance - perhaps Castle Cary nuclar power station?
I am well aware that Biomass generation has severe detractions, but I think that to mount any sort of effective opposition, you really must have viable alternatives to offer.
May I suggest getting in touch with CAT (the Centre for Alternative Energy), Friends of the Earth and/or Andrew Macintosh (author of Soil and Soul).

Good luck in your endeavours! :)

Thanks for your question-I would direct you to the "about" section of the website, which explains that Castle Cary is already self sufficient in renewable energy-the Landfill Gas from Dimmer Landfill produces 4 Megawatt of energy-so we feel that we are already fulfilling the government's criteria for renewable energy.
To answer your other question, we will NOT be advocating nuclear power, but are obviously keen on any other ideas for renewable energy which will have a beneficial effect on the locale.
It is not the Biomass or "green" energy which is the problem, simply the placement of the proposed power station.
Please feel free to write again, responses and feedback from the public are most welcome!

Thanks for the reply,
I was playing devil's advocate, so I am pleased that your answer was as it was! Again I would like to send my best wishes - good luck with the campaign, I hope that it is successful! :)
